FAQs
What is Classical Pilates?
Classical Pilates is the original method developed by Joseph Pilates — a complete system of exercises performed on both specialized apparatus and the mat. It’s a precise, full-body practice that builds strength, flexibility, and control through thoughtful, flowing movement.
The benefits extend far beyond the studio. Pilates creates a stronger, more balanced foundation for everything you do — from lifting your kids or carrying groceries, to excelling in athletics and weight training. With consistency, it transforms the way you move through daily life, making every action more efficient, resilient, and confident.
What is the best way to get started?
We recommend starting with a few one-on-one private sessions. You’ll be introduced to the classical pilates apparatus, learn the modifications that support you best, and build the confidence to step into group classes feeling prepared. We offer new clients a special rate of $175 for 3 private sessions. Click here for more information.
How can I prepare for my first session?
Please come dressed in comfortable, athletic clothing free of zippers or hardware, as these can damage the equipment upholstery. Long hair should be secured and high enough that it won’t interfere when lying down. For hygiene and safety, sticky socks are recommended—we have them available for purchase at the studio. If you don’t have a pair and prefer not to buy them right away, going barefoot is perfectly fine for your first few sessions.
